Let's get Northern Belle on the water again

She ran the Cremyll Ferry for 87 years - now she needs our help to be restored and serve her community in many different ways

Northern Belle

Where past meets future: Tomorrow's marine propulsion in an historic wooden ferry, refitted and brought back into use for the community she served.

Originally built as a steam ferry in 1928 for the Cremyll ferry crossing the Northern Belle was later adapted to diesel.  She went on to serve the people of the Rame Peninsula for more than 80 years before a collision took her out of action in 2013.

Saved by a group of local people who set up the Northern Belle Trust we are now working hard to get this iconic vessel back on the water again

Pioneering electric propulsion for a greener future, a floating classroom and back in service as a working ferry.  There is still a bright future ahead for the Northern Belle
